    Posted by: salsarose This soup tastes like lasagna, and it has many of the traditional ingredients--including Italian sausage, tomatoes, Italian seasoning, pasta and both parmesan and mozzarella cheeses.

    List of Ingredients




    1/2 pound ground beef
    • 1/2 pound mild/sweet bulk Italian sausage
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 medium onion, chopped
    • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
    • 2 cans (14 ounces each) beef broth
    • 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes
    • 1 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
    • 1 1/2 cups uncooked corkscrew pasta
    • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

    METHOD:
    In large pan, cook beef and sausage over medium heat until browned. Add garlic, onion and green pepper and cook 3-4 minutes or until onion and green pepper are softened. Drain off fat. Add broth, tomatoes, salt, and Italian seasoning; heat to boiling. Stir in pasta. Cook over medium heat about 12 minutes, or until pasta is cooked. Stir in Parmesan cheese. Place soup in 4 bowls. Sprinkle each bowl with mozzarella cheese.

    Number of servings: 4
