List of Ingredients
1 - 1 1/2 lbs. sausage - either smoked sausage, or
fresh kielbasa, your preference
2 16 oz. cans beef broth
1 med. - lg. onion - cut into about 1/2” pieces
1 cup celery - sliced
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 head cabbage - cut into about 1” pieces
1 can diced tomatoes
12 - 16 oz. tomato juice
12 - 16 oz. water
2 cans baked beans - the flavor choice is yours.... (I have
even used chili mix beans before)
Optional items: mushrooms, carrot slices, sweet peppersRecipe
Put first group of ingredients in a large pot. Bring to boil, and simmer about 15 minutes. Add second group to pot. Add any “optional” items you want. If you need additional water (or tomato juice), add it. Cook until cabbage is nearly done. Add beans, bring to a boil, and simmer for 10 - 15 minutes. Let set about 1/2 hour, and serve. (Reheat if needed.)
