    4 slices bacon
    1 10-ounce package extra-sharp
    cheddar cheese, shredded (2 1/2 cups)
    1/2 cup milk
    1/4 cup mayonnaise
    1 tsp. Worcestershire
    1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
    crackers

    ABOUT 20 MINUTES BEFORE SERVING OR UP TO 3 DAYS AHEAD:

    In 10-inch skillet over medium-low heat, cook bacon until browned. Remove to paper towels to drain. Crumble bacon; set aside. In blender at medium speed or in food processor with knife blade attached, blend cheddar cheese and remaining ingredients until smooth. Stir in crumbled bacon. If not serving right away, cover and refrigerate. To serve, remove spread to room temperature to soften slightly.

    Serve with crackers.

    Makes about 1 3/4 cups.
