    Recipe Introduction

Posted by: jillcarr **********This is my mother-in-law's recipe (I think she originally got it from someone else). I don't even like stuffing, and I like this. It's the best

    List of Ingredients

    1 lb. white bread
4 c. chopped cooked chicken or turkey
    2 c. chopped onion
    4 c. chopped celery
    1 Tbsp. salt (or less)
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    3 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. fresh parsley (1/4 c. dried)
1 Tbsp. sage (I leave this out, seems like a lot)
    1 c. butter

    Recipe

Toast bread; dice. Cover with cold water and let set for 1 hour. Melt butter; add chicken and cook 5 minutes. Add onions and celery; cover and steam 15 minutes on low. Add salt, pepper, eggs, parsley, and sage. Squeeze water out of bread gently. Mix everything together. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees in desired pan. Be careful this doesn't boil over the edge. Can be made the day before and baked 1 1/2 hours.
