    finally found a site that sells hickory nuts and they also had some butternuts. They were very nice, very quick in replying. I ordered a pound of each. It sounds like they are already out of the shell, which makes the expense worth it. The hickory nuts were 27 a pound, including shipping. They graciously gave approval to pass on their address to anyone else interested. cj
