    Mammy Strickland's Lemon Merginue Pie

    List of Ingredients




    4 lemons,fresh one's
    3/4 cup sugar
    one tall can Carnation evaporated milk
    6 tablespoon's of self rising flour
    4 egg yolk's,save white's
    6 tablespoons sugar for merginue
    1 store bought pie crust

    Recipe



    Roll and the cut,squeeze the juice from the lemons,grate alittle of the peel for zest in pie
    In a large bowl put the egg yolks,sugar,lemon juice and zest.Mix well add the flour,evaporated milk,mixing well again
    Have the pie crust at room temp. then pour your pie filling into the crust;bake at 325 for 30 mins.
    Now beat the egg whites adding Cream Of Tarter and 6 tbsp. sugar to whites ,beat til stiff,spoon onto baked pie ,return to oven and broil til browned slightly. Cool completely .
