For the biscuits
2 cups all-purpose flour, plus more, to taste, for dusting a work surface and cutting tool
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup blueberries
1 1/2 cups whipping cream
For the blueberry sauce:
2 cups blueberries, divided
1/3 cup sugar
2 tablespoons water
1 teaspoon vanillaRecipe
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, thoroughly mix 2 cups of the flour, the baking powder, 2 tablespoons of the sugar, the salt, and the nutmeg.
Toss 1 cup of the blueberries with the flour mixture.
Stir the whipping cream into the flour mixture until just moistened.
Using the extra flour, dust a work surface.
Turn the dough out onto the floured worksurface and gently lift and fold it about five times, making a quarter turn between each fold.
Place the dough on the prepared baking sheet and form it into a 7-8-inch square, about 1-inch-thick.
Using the extra flour, lightly flour a pizza cutter or a knife.
Using the prepared cutting tool, cut the dough into 12-16 squares, but leave them close together.
Bake in the upper half of the oven until golden-brown, about 17-20 minutes.
While the biscuits bake, combine 1 cup of the blueberries, the remaining sugar, and the water in a medium saucepan.
Place the saucepan on the stove-top and heat until simmering, cooking and stirring until the berries pop and the sauce has thickened.
Transfer the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla and the remaining berries.
Cut or pull apart the biscuits.
Serve the biscuits warm with the blueberry sauce.
