    Cornbread, Apple and Sausage Dressing

    List of Ingredients

    1 cake of cornbread, crumbled
    3-4 stalks of celery, diced
    1/2 to 1 whole onion, diced
    2 Granny Smith apples, peeled and chopped
    1/2 to 1 pkg breakfast sausage (I use Jimmy Dean)
    1 tbsp poultry seasoning
    salt and pepper to taste
    1 stick butter
    2 cans chicken broth
    4 chicken bouillon cubes

    Recipe

    Heat Chicken Broth, butter and bouillon cubes together until butter and cubes are melted. Crumble Cornbread in large bowl or pan. Add celery, onion and apples. Cook sausage until browned, breaking up into pieces about the size of the apples. Drain. Add to cornbread mixture along with the poultry seasoning, salt, pepper and broth mixture. Put in broth a little at a time and add until desired consistency. Mix well, pour into a greased 9x13 inch dish. Bake at 425 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until done.
