    List of Ingredients

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2/3 cup cocoa
    1 1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    1 large egg
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 cup buttermilk

    Filling
    6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
    2 cups confectioners' sugar
    1 jar (7 1/2oz) marshmallow creme
    2 tsp vanilla

    Recipe

    Heat oven to 350°. Grease 2 large baking sheets. Combine flour, cocoa and soda in bowl. In mixer, beat butter and sugar on high until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Add egg and vanilla. Add flour mixture and buttermilk, alternately starting and ending with flour.

    Spoon mounds of batter 2 inches apart on baking sheets. Sprinkle half with crystal sugar. Bake 15 minutes or until tops are puffed and spring back when touched. Transfer to wire racks to cool.

    Beat together butter, confectioners' sugar, marshmallow creme and vanilla until smooth. Spread a rounded tablespoon of filling on flat side of half the cookies. Top with remaining cookies.
