    Banana Pudding

    The Best Banana Pudding!

    List of Ingredients

    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup all-purpose flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    2-1/2 - 3 cups milk
    1 tsp vanilla
    1 tbsp butter
    4 eggs, separated
    1 box vanilla wafers
    4 bananas
    Meringue
    5 tbsp sugar
    1/2 tsp cream of tartar
    1/2 tsp vanilla

    Recipe

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

    Line bottom of a glass dish with wafers. Combine the sugar, flour and salt. Stir well to mix.

    In a heavy saucepan beat the egg yolks slightly. Over medium heat add the flour mixture alternately with the milk and vanilla, stirring constantly. Bring to a gentle boil and when mixture begins to thicken add butter. Remove from heat.

    Add layer of bananas on top of wafers, add half the pudding, add another layer of wafers and bananas and remaining pudding.

    Beat egg whites until soft peak forms, add cream of tartar, sugar and vanilla. Spread over filling. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes or till lightly brown.
