    List of Ingredients

    For the filling:
6 tablespoons butter, cubed, plus more, to taste, softened, for greasing the dish
    10 cups apples, sliced
    1 cup brown sugar
    2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    1 teaspoon cinnamon

    For the topping:
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 cups oats
    2 cups brown sugar
    1 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 cup butter, room temperature

    Recipe

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with the extra softened butter.

In the prepared baking dish, add the apples, 1 cup of the brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of the flour, and 1 teaspoon of the cinnamon, and toss to coat.

Scatter 6 tablespoons of the cubed butter on top of the apple mixture.

In a large bowl, add the remaining flour, the oats, the remaining brown sugar, the remaining cinnamon, the baking soda, the baking powder, and the salt, and mix until well combined.

Add the remaining butter to the oat mixture and cut it in with a pastry blender until the mixture resembles crumbles.

Sprinkle the crumbles on top of the apple mixture and the butter in the baking dish.
Bake until bubbly and golden-brown, about 45 minutes.

Allow the bake to cool, about 15 minutes.
