    Recipe Introduction

This is a great and simple thing to make the only disadvantage is it takes a bit long for you to finally be able to eat it. Be patient

    List of Ingredients

    • 275g (10oz) butter
    • 250g (9oz) gingernut biscuits, crushed
    • 175 (6oz) caster sugar
    • 1 tin of carnations condensed milk
    • 2 bananas
    • 150ml (1/4 pint) double-cream, whipped
    • Grate chocolate over the top of pie to decorate

    Instructions

    1. In large saucepan, melt 100g (4oz) of the butter and stir in crushed biscuits.
    2. Press into the base and sides of a 19cm (8 inch) deep, loose-bottom fluted, flan tin. Chill for 30 minutes.
    3. Place remaining butter and the caster sugar in a non-stick saucepan over a low heat, stirring until butter melts.
    4. Add the carnations condensed milk and bring to boil, stirring continuously.
    5. Boil steadily for exactly 5 minutes stirring frequently, to make a light golden caramel.
    6. Pour over the biscuit base and chill for about 1 1/2 hours or until firm.
    7. place one of the bananas cut into thin slices over the caramel mixture.
    8. Whip cream and place over the bananas.
    9. Place second banana over the thickly whipped cream.
