    Mrs. K's Strawberry Ice Box Cake

    List of Ingredients

    a family favorite recipe that is over 30 years old.

    one 18.5 oz. box white cake mix
    3/4 cup Wesson vegetable oil
    1/2 cup water
    3 oz. package strawberry jell-o
    4 large eggs
    3/4 of a 10 oz. pkg. of frozen strawberry halves and pieces-thawed

    Combine all ingredients together until well mixed. Pour evenly into 3 greased and floured 8-9" round cake pans. Bake cake according to directions on cake mix package. Cool all layers completely.

    Frosting Ingredients:

    1 pound box of sifted powdered sugar
    1/2 cup softened butter or margarine
    remainder of package of frozen strawberries

    Beat all ingredients until spreading consistency. Frost inside layers, up sides and top of cake. Put cake in the refrigerator 4-6 hours. Keep cake in refrigerator in between slicing and serving.
