Holiday Cookie Mix in a Jar

Holiday Cookie Mix in a Jar

2 cups flour mixed with 1/2 teaspoon baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
1 1/4 cups candy coated chocolatepieces
(use red and green for Christmas, pastels for Easter, brown, yellow and orange pieces for Halloween).
Coordinate the fabric for the jar top.




Recipe



Layer ingredients in order given in a 1-quart, wide-mouth canning jar. Press each layer firmly in place before adding next ingredient.
Begin with flour mixture.

Include this on card on top of jar:
Directions
1. Empty jar of cookie mix into large mixing bowl. Mix thoroughly.

2. Add: 1/2 cup butter or margarine, not diet, softened; 1 egg,
slightly beaten; and 1 teaspoon vanilla.

3. Mix until completely blended.

4. Shape into balls the size of walnuts. Place 2 inches apart on
sprayed baking sheets.

5. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 14 minutes until edges are lightly
browned. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet. Remove cookies to racks
to finish cooling.

Yield: 2 1/2 dozen cookies
