    Grandma A's 1920's sugar cookie

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup butter or margarine
    1 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
    2 large eggs
    3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 Tablespoon cream of milk

    Cream together the butter or margarine with the sugar until light lemon-colored and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, vanilla extract and cream or milk. Mix all ingredients well. Roll out thin and cut into shapes. Bake at 350F for 7 to 8 minutes, or until edges are a very pale light brown.
