    Henrietta's Fudge


    List of Ingredients


    • 5 cups sugar
    • 1 T. vanilla
    • 4 T. flour
    • 1/2 to 1 cup butter
    • pinch of salt [go to walmart and buy the spoon labeled pinch if you don't know]
    • 1 cup cocoa
    • 4 T. white syrup [Karo]
    • 2 cups milk


    Instructions


    1. Combine first 6 ingredients in a large heavy pan (A cast-iron Dutch oven is perfect). Bring to a boil, stirring slowly and constantly. Allow to boilto soft-ball stage.Remove from heat and add butter and vanilla---DO NOT STIR.Let cool to lukewarm.Stir with a heavy spoon until creamy.Turn quickly into dish and cut.

    Phil's note: BTW if you are making it why on earth fuss about a few more calories. IT's rich.
