    Nasi himpit ( Rice cubes)

    This is a recipe for rice cubes.Rice squished into solid cubes. Something like japanese rice balls but they are a lot more compact. Rice cubes are to be eaten with Soto Ayam (Check it out at Soups) or Satay (at Poultry).


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups of rice
    • 3 screwpine leave (if you can't find this, you can leave it out)
    • 3.5 cups of water
    • Salt to taste


    Instructions


    1. Clean rice, cook in water and screpine leave. Add salt.
    2. Screwpine leave gives aroma to the rice cubes.
    3. When rice is cooked, remove from pot and put in tray.
    4. Cover with thin cotton cloth. Compress it with something heavy.
    5. Leave it aside for half a day.
    6. Cut it into cubes. Serve with Satay sauce or Soto Ayam.
