    Soto Ayam (Ayam = Chicken)

    Soto Ayam is some sort of Chicken soup.
    It is typically Malay. Not at all spicy.
    Normally it is served with rice cubes (rice squished into solid cubes) or rice vemicelli or noodles


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 Chicken (deboned)
    • 1 large onion
    • 1 litre of water
    • 1 tbsp of salt
    • 2 tsps minced ginger
    • 3 tbsps oil


    Instructions


    1. Dump in the chicken, onion, water and salt into pot and boil for 1.5 hours until chicken is tender
    2. Remove chicken, strain soup and add ginger into the stock.
    3. Cut chicken into thin strips (shred it)
    4. Heat oil and saute onion until golden brown.
    5. Put stock into bowl, throw in noodles, blanched beansprouts, friend onions and garnish it with spring onions (cut into tiny rings)
    6. Voila! A light meal which is quick and no fuss.
