List of Ingredients
1 lb hot or mild Italian sausage
1 med onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
28 oz jar spaghetti sauce
14 oz can crushed tomatoes, undrained
1 can tomato paste
6 Tbs red wine
1 Tbs minced fresh parsley
1 Tbs Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp dried basil
3/4 tsp dried oregano
1/2 lb ziti pasta
1/2 carton (15 oz) ricotta cheese
1 c shredded mosarella cheese.
1/4 c grated parmesan cheese
1 egg beaten
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Recipe
In large dutch oven, cook sausage, onion and garlic over medium heat until meat is no longer pink. Drain. Stir in spaghetti sauce, tomatoes, tomato paste, wine, parsley, worchestire sauce, basil, and oregano. Cover and simmer for 3 hours, stirring ocassionally. Cook pasta according to directions; drain. In bowl combine ricotta, mozarella and 2 Tbs parmesan cheese, egg, salt and pepper.
In greased 13x9 inch baking dish, spread 1/3 pasta sauce, 1/2 pasta, 1/2 cheese, 1/3 pasta sauce, 1/2 pasta, 1/2 cheese, 1/3 pasta sauce. Sprinkle with remaining Parmesan Cheese and cover and bake for 1 hour.
