Buttermilk Pound Cake

- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
Instructions
- Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, one at a time, creaming well after each addition. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk; add alternately with flour to creamed mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Add vanilla and almond extracts and beat well.
- Pour into a greased 10" tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until a tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
