Maple Syrup Butter Tarts

Makes about 16 tarts.
List of Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vinegar
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 6 tablespoons melted butter
- 2/3 cup chopped walnuts
- 16 pre-made pastry tart shells about 3 inches across
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 450ºF.
- In a bowl, beat eggs only until yolks and whites are well blended. Add sugar, salt, vinegar and maple syrup, mixing well. Add melted butter and walnuts.
- Fill tart shells and bake 7 minutes, then reduce oven temperature to 350ºF and bake 5 to 8 minutes longer, until bubbling.
