    Recipe Introduction

These are great for a "bring a dish to pass" supper. They make a lot, as you can see. I made them and they were delicious.
I used a full pound of bacon in this recipe, but saved some for the top of the beans.

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 pound bacon
    • 1 large onion diced
    • 1 green pepper diced
    • 2 stalks celery
    • 1 TBSP parsley

    Instructions

    1. Fry bacon until crisp. In same pan with grease add the rest of above ingredients. Sauté until tender not brown.
    2. In 9x13 inch pan add 2 cans red kidney beans, drained; 2 cans white kidney beans, drained; add 1 large can baked beans, drained (if you can get Grandma Brown baked beans they taste the best. If not regular baked beans will do)
    3. Add top ingredients to beans.
      In bowl add:
      1/2 cup ketchup
      1/2 cup chili sauce
      1/2 cup brown sugar
      1 TBSP mustard
1/2 cup maple syrup (or pancake syrup )
Mix thoroughly and pour over beans mix until blended. Add strips of bacon on top .
    4. Bake 375 degrees for 45 minutes.

    Final Comments

I made half of this recipe for us and they were really good.
