    1 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup chunky peanut butter
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup packed brown sugar
    3 eggs
    1 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp almond extract
    3 cups flour
    1/2 tsp baking soda
    1/2 tsp salt
    1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
    1/2 cup salted peanuts

    Preheat the oven to 350 F. Grease the baking sheets. In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter, peanut butter, and the sugars until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in the extracts. Combine the flour, baking soda, and the salt. Gradually add to the creamed mixture. Mix well. Stir in the nuts. Drop by tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets. Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
    Makes about 8 1/2 dozen.
