    Source of Recipe

    Mott's®

Makes 3 cups batter; 12 waffles

    2 cups all-purpose flour
    1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup MOTT'S® Natural Apple Sauce
1/2 cup low fat plain yogurt
    1/4 cup 2% milk
1/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    2 tablespoons honey
    1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
    1 tablespoon lemon juice
    1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    4 egg whites
    1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
Frozen low fat vanilla yogurt (optional)
Additional MOTT'S® Natural Apple Sauce (optional)
    Fresh raspberries (optional)

    1. In small bowl, sift together flour and baking powder.

    2. In large bowl, combine 1 cup apple sauce, yogurt, milk, brown sugar, honey, cinnamon, lemon juice and nutmeg.

    3. In medium bowl, beat egg whites with electric mixer at high speed until soft peaks form.

    4. Fold egg whites and flour mixture alternately into apple sauce mixture, beginning with egg whites, until well blended. Fold in pecans.

    5. Spray waffle iron with nonstick cooking spray. For every two waffles, pour 1/2 cup batter into hot waffle iron. Spread with knife to cover waffle iron. Close lid and bake until steaming stops.* Top each waffle with scoop of frozen yogurt, additional apple sauce and raspberries, if desired.
