    List of Ingredients


    • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (do not use self rising)
    • 1 cup sugar
    • ¼ cup baking cocoa
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • ½ teaspoon salt
    • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
    • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
    • ½ teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup cold water


    Instructions


    1. Heat oven to 350.
    2. Grease at square pan 8x8x2, or a round pan 9x1 ½ inches with shortening and lightly flour.
    3. Mix flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in medium bowl.
    4. Mix oil, vinegar, and vanilla in a small bowl.
    5. Vigorously stir oil mixture and water into the flour mixture for about 1 minute, or until well blended. Immediately pour into baking pan.
    6. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
    7. Cool 15 minutes.
