Bread Machine Buns
These little beauties are truly amazing! And for those of you who might be "bread machine-challenged": the good news is that they can just as easily (well, maybe not quite JUST as easily!) be made using a bowl, a wooden spoon and a little bit of elbow grease. You won't be sorry if you decide to try this one, found on a website that I neglected to note when I first tried the recipe.
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup sour cream
1 tsp. salt
2 Tbsp. sugar
2-3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2-1/2 tsp. instant yeast
1 slightly beaten egg
sesame seeds (optional)
1 large egg (optional)
Add first seven ingredients in order to bread machine. Put on dough cycle. Remove from machine. Cut into 12 pieces. Shape into buns. Put on cookie sheet close together. Cover and let rise until doubled--about 20 minutes. Now you may brush with a beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds (if desired). Bake at 350º F. for about 15 minutes.
Note: Recipe is for a 1-1/2 lb. bread machine.
Yield: 12 rolls.
