    Lillian Burton's Swedish Tarts

A terrific, all-purpose dessert that's easy enough for even the most inexperienced cook. This one comes highly recommended.

    1/4 lb. butter (1 stick)
    2 eggs, unbeaten
    3/4 cup sugar
    2 cups flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. baking powder
    cut-up fresh fruit
    whipped cream

Preheat the oven to 400º F. In the large bowl of an electric mixer, beat butter and
eggs to a cream; add the sugar. Beat till light and fluffy. Sift the flour, salt and baking
powder together and stir into the dough.
Line muffin tins with the dough, patting it thinly. Bake till light brown and puffy, about 10 minutes. Let cool. Fill with any kind of fruit and top with whipped cream.

    12 servings.
