    Grapenut Pudding

This was a recipe that one of our oldest family friends--Mrs. Pauline Haynes--gave me many years ago. It's custard pudding with an attitude, and if you've never tried it, then I think that you owe it to yourself to prepare it at LEAST once. I don't think that you'll be sorry if you do.

    1/2 cup Grapenuts cereal
    2 cups warm milk
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    dash of salt
    grated nutmeg
    ground cinnamon

Soak Grapenuts in warm milk. Beat eggs. Add sugar, vanilla and salt. Combine egg and milk mixtures in greased loaf pan. Sprinkle nutmeg and cinnamon on top. Bake in a pan of lukewarm water in a preheated 350º F. oven for 40 to 60 minutes, until a knife inserted in the middle comes out relatively clean.
