    Recipe Introduction

I've been looking for the "perfect" coleslaw recipe for as long as I've been collecting recipes. This one is "it". I hope that, should you decide to try it, you will agree. Enjoy!

    List of Ingredients

    1 (16-oz.) package coleslaw mix
    2 Tbsp. minced onion
    1/3 cup white sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
    1/4 cup milk
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1/4 cup buttermilk
    1-1/2 Tbsp. white wine vinegar
    2-1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice

    Recipe

    Prep time: approx. 15 minutes.
Ready in: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes.

    Makes 6 to 8 servings.

Combine the coleslaw and onion in a large bowl. In a separate bowl, combine the sugar, salt, pepper, milk, mayonnaise, buttermilk, vinegar and lemon juice and mix until smooth. Pour over the coleslaw and onion mixture, stir well and chill for 1 hour.

    Variation:

This coleslaw is delicious. It's better if it's been left in the fridge for about two days. I just use shredded cabbage and grated carrots instead of the coleslaw mix and I use apple cider vinegar instead of white wine vinegar. In addition, I use evaporated milk instead of butter milk. It still comes out perfectly every time. Everyone loves it!
