    Butterscotch Yams

    A side dish worthy of the most ornate of Thanksgiving tables. Is it a side dish? Is it a dessert? YOU decide!


    2 (17-oz.) cans yams, well drained
    1/2 cup brown sugar
    1/2 cup Karo syrup
    1/4 cup milk
    2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon


    Arrange yams in 9x13-inch pan. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine remaining ingredients and stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Cook for 5 minutes. Pour over yams. Bake in a 325º F. oven for 30 minutes. While baking, baste often.
