    Big Daddys Bread Puddin w/Sauce

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 loaf french bread
    • 1 quart of milk
    • 4 eggs (beaten)
    • 1 tablespoon vanilla
    • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
    • 1 cup raisins
    • 3 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
    • Sauce:
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 1 stick butter or margarine
    • 1 egg (beaten)
    • 1 teaspoon flavoring (any flavor)


    Instructions


    1. Whisk beaten egg into milk. Tear bread by hand into chunks and soak in milk and egg mixture.


    2. Crush with hands to make sure milk has soaked through.


    3. Add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and raisins and stir well.


    4. Pour melted butter into a 9x13 baking dish to coat bottm and sides of pan.


    5. Add bread mixture. (can sprinkly more cinnamon and raisins on top)


    6. Bake until very firm, about 40 minutes. Cool.


    7. Sauce:


    8. Cream sugar and butter.


    9. Cook in double boiler until very hot and dissolved.


    10. Add well beaten egg slowly and whip very fast so egg doesn't curdle.


    11. Pour on bread pudding.



    Final Comments


    This can be done with any mixture of left over bread (biscuits, buns, etc)
