    Crust

    1 1/2 cups flour
    1 tsp salt
    1/4 cup pecans, chopped
    1/2 cup shortening (crisco)

    Mix above ingredients well. Add 1/4 cup ICE WATER (a little more if necessary). Pat dough into an 8" pie pan. Prick dough on bottom. Bake 10 minutes at 375. You will finish baking it later with the filling.

    Filling (FOR 2 PIES) - you may want to adjust the amt of sugar. This sounds really sweet and its been many many years since I made this pie.

    Boil 4 large sweet potatos. Peel them and mash well. Add 1 cup of sugar, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1/4 tsp nutmeg, 2 whisked eggs, 1/2 cup condensed milk and 1/2 tsp vanilla. Melt 1/4 cup butter and add to mixture.

    Pour filling into shell that had been baked for 10 minutes at 375. Put 1/2 cup pecan halves around edge of pie (on filling). Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake at 375 until cooked through, I'd say around 25 minutes but keep checking it.
