    BEEF, ITALIAN POT ROAST

    List of Ingredients


    • 4-5 pound beef blade roast
    • 2 T. cooking oil
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2-3 cloves garlic, chopped
    • 2 t. salt
    • 1 t. Italian seasonings
    • 1/8 t. pepper
    • 1/3 pound fresh mushrooms, chopped
    • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
    • 1/2 C. red wine


    Instructions


    1. Brown beef in cooking fat in large frying pan.

    2. Pour off all but 1 T. drippings. Remove meat add onion and garlic to drippings and lightly brown.

    3. Return meat to pan; sprinkle each side with salt, Italian seasoning and pepper.

    4. Add mushrooms, tomato sauce and wine.

    5. (If needed, more red wine or liquid from mushrooms may be added during cooking)

    6. Remove bones from meat and serve meat & sauce with noodles or spaghetti if desired.
