    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 stick butter (I think that's a 1/4 cup?)
    • 2 tbsp flour
    • 1 cup chopped onions
    • 1/2 cup chopped celery
    • 1/3 cup chopped bell pepper
    • 1 large clove garlic, mashed
    • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    • 1 tbsp minced parsley
    • 1 tsp salt
    • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
    • 1 cup water
    • 1 1/2 pounds shirmp, peeled and deveined


    Instructions


    1. In a heavy 2 quart saucepan, melt butter.
    2. Add flour and cook over low heat, stirring constantly to make a light brown roux.
    3. Add onion and celery, bell pepper and garlic. Cook until vegetables are soft.
    4. Add remaining ingredients except for shrimp
    5. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
    6. Add shrimp and cook untl done, 3 to 5 minutes
    7. Turn off and let cool.
    8. Flavor is enhanced if refrigerated overnight and reheated.
    9. Serve over hot rice
