    Source of Recipe

    Marlen - Mimi's Cyber Kitchen

    List of Ingredients

    • 1 cup sour dried cherries
    • 1/3 cup cherry brandy (I used marachino cherry juice)
    • 1/2 cup butter
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup light brown sugar - packed
    • 1 egg
    • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    • 1/4 tsp almond extract
    • 1/4 tsp salt
    • 1/2 tsp baking soda
    • 1 1/2 cups flour
    • 3/4 cup white chocolate - coarsely chopped
    • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate - coarsely chopped
    • 1/2 cup macadamia nuts - coarsely chopped

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
    2. Plump dried cherries by covering with boiling water and let stayd a few minutes (5?)
    3. Drain cherries and toss with cherry brandy or marachino cherry juice. Let stand until required or better, let sit over night. Drain cherries.
    4. Cream butter and sugars.
    5. Blend in egg, vanilla and almond extracts.
    6. Fold in salt, baking soda, flour.
    7. Fold in cherries, chocolates and nuts. Batter will be soft
    8. Drop in generous spoonfuls onto baking sheet lined with parchment (didn't use parchment)
    9. Bake at 350 degrees until lightly browned around edges, 12-14 minutes.

    Final Comments

The 2nd time I made them, I added 1/4 cup of flour to see if that would stop them from running so much... also had to let them sit on cookie sheet for a few minutes so they were solid enough to lift off the pan.

Maybe use dark chocolate and white chocolate...?
