    Breadmachine Cinnabon Clones

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup butter, melted
    • 1/4 cup water
    • 1/2 pkg instant vanilla pudding mix
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 1 tbsp sugar
    • 1/2 tsp salt
    • 4 cups bread flour
    • 2 1/2 tsp yeast
    • Filling
    • 1/2 cup butter, softened
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 2 tsp cinnamon
    • Frosting
    • 4 oz cream cheese, softened (1/2 of a regular sized pkg)
    • 1/4 cup butter, softened
    • 1 1/2 cups icing sugar
    • 1/2 tsp vanilla
    • 1 1/2 tsp milk


    Instructions


    1. Rolls: Place ingredients in machine following manufacturers specifications. Set on dough cycle. After completing dough cycle, remove from machine and roll into 17x10" rectangle
    2. Filling: Mix together brown sugar and cinnamon. Spread softened butter over dough and sprinkle brown sugar mixture over top.
    3. Roll tightly from long end, pinching edges closed when completely rolled
    4. Slice rolled dough into 1/2" slices (or larger if larger bun is preferred)
    5. Let rise until doubled.
    6. Bake at 350 for 15-20 minutes or until golden. Do not over bake!
    7. Frosting: beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy. Add icing sugar, vanilla and milk. Add a bit more milk if needed until you reach desired consistency. Spread on very warm rolls

    10. Optional Pecan cinnabon filling:
    11. add 1/4 cup chopped pecans into filling

    13. Optional Pecan cinnabon topping:
    14. melt 1-2 tbsp butter/margarine and pour into bottom of pan
    15. add 1/2 cup brown sugar
    16. add 1/4 cup corn syrup or favorite brand of pancake syrup
    17. sprinkle 1/4 cup chopped pecans over top and then place rolls into pan and follow rest of recipe


    Final Comments


    - I thought I'd add more cinnamon next time I make these, and maybe a little more brown sugar

    - when I made them in a glass pan, the bottoms got crispy from the filling, so watch that

    - keep them close together in the pan otherwise they may dry out when baking them
