Mexican Stuffed Shells

List of Ingredients
- 12 pasta stuffing shells, cooked and drained (jumbo shells)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 12 oz mild or medium picante sauce (or more)
- 8 oz tomato sauce
- 4 oz chopped green chiles, drained
- 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, monterey jack)
- 2.8 oz can french fried onions
- for extra sauce, you can use some more picante sauce with the tomato sauce
Instructions
- Brown beef, drain.
- Combine picante sauce and tomato sauce.
- Stir 1/2 cup of tomato sauce mixture into ground beef. Add chiles, 1/2 cup cheese, 1/2 can of french fried onions.
- Mix well. Pour 1/2 of remaining sauce into bottom of 10" round or 8x12" baking dish.
- Stuff shells with beef mixture.
- Arrange shells in baking dish.
- Pour remaining sauce over shells.
- Bake uncovered 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
- Top with onions and cheese.
- Bake 5 minutes longer.
Final Comments
Can freeze before baking, too!
