    Mexican Stuffed Shells

    List of Ingredients


    • 12 pasta stuffing shells, cooked and drained (jumbo shells)
    • 1 pound ground beef
    • 12 oz mild or medium picante sauce (or more)
    • 8 oz tomato sauce
    • 4 oz chopped green chiles, drained
    • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, monterey jack)
    • 2.8 oz can french fried onions
    • for extra sauce, you can use some more picante sauce with the tomato sauce


    Instructions


    1. Brown beef, drain.
    2. Combine picante sauce and tomato sauce.
    3. Stir 1/2 cup of tomato sauce mixture into ground beef. Add chiles, 1/2 cup cheese, 1/2 can of french fried onions.
    4. Mix well. Pour 1/2 of remaining sauce into bottom of 10" round or 8x12" baking dish.
    5. Stuff shells with beef mixture.
    6. Arrange shells in baking dish.
    7. Pour remaining sauce over shells.
    8. Bake uncovered 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
    9. Top with onions and cheese.
    10. Bake 5 minutes longer.


    Final Comments


    Can freeze before baking, too!
