    Almond Flour Sticky Buns

    3/4 cup Splenda
    1/4 cup Atkin's sugar free Hazelnut syrup
    5 eggs
    2 cups almond flour
    1/2 cup ground flax seed (for texture, not required)
    1 t baking powder
    1 cup butter, softened
    1 egg yolk
    1/8 cup hazelnut syrup

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sweetener. Add 5 eggs one at a time, beating after each.
    Mix flour and optional ground flax seed with baking powder and add to egg mixture while beating.
    Pour into muffin cups (mine filled 12 a bit more than half full).
    Beat the egg yolk with 1/8 cup hazelnut syrup until it thickens a bit. Then brush it over the tops of the muffins. Sprinkle with a few chopped nuts (your choice, optional).

    Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. (May take up to 30 minutes).

    These are large muffins. The top isn't sticky exactly but looks glazed.
