    1/2 pound soy flour -- 250g
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    2 ounces butter -- 60g
    5 ounces grated cheddar cheese -- 140g, extra sharp
    1 egg
    1 tablespoon dried onions -- minced flakes
    add water for 1/4 cup onions
    3 fluid ounces 2% low-fat milk -- 85g

    Recipe



    Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl then mix in the butter. Add 4 oz of the grated cheese and the onions. Whisk the milk and egg together, add gradually to the dry ingredients, and mix to form a soft dough. Roll out to about 1/2 inch-12mm thickness on a surface lightly covered with regular flour, then cut into muffin- size sections about 2 1/4 inches -60mm in diameter. Sprinkle a small amount of grated cheese on top of each scone.
    Place scones on a lightly greased baking tray and bake at 400°F-200°C for about 16 minutes, or until fully cooked.
