    Nourishing Traditions/500 low carb recipes

    Recipe Introduction

The following is a combo recipe of the Nourishing Traditions and a low carb cookbook called 500 low carb recipes. This is a perfect substitution for popcorn.......they are crunchy, buttery, and oh so good! Lots of good fat and fiber to boot! I just made another batch today. YUM!
2 c. soaked and dried walnuts or pecans or a mixture of both
    4 T. butter, melted
    3 T. Worcestershire sauce

Place nuts and 2 t. salt in bowl and cover with water. Leave in a warm place for at least 7 hrs. or overnight. Drain in colander. Spread nuts on cookie sheet and place in a warm oven (no more than 150 degrees) for 12-24 hrs., turning occasionally, until completely dry and crisp.

    Remove from oven.

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.

Melt butter and drizzle over nuts, coating all of them. Roast for 15 min., then remove from oven and stir in the Worcestershire sauce, coating the nuts well. Roast another 10 min.

You may add some salt if it is too bland for you, but I like them just as they are.
