    Lemony Herbed Asparagus

    12 asparagus spears
    2 Tablespoons butter
    1/8 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
    1/8 teaspoon dried parsley, crushed
    2 Tablespoons lemon juice
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon pepper
    2 Tablespoons heavy whipping cream

    To prepare fresh asparagus, wash stems; snap off and
    discard woody bases. Do not peel.
    Meanwhile, place a steamer basket in a medium saucepan. Add
    water to just below basket. Bring water to boiling. Add
    asparagus to steamer basket. Cover and steam for 5-8 minutes
    or until tender.
    Meanwhile, in another saucepan combine butter, basil,
    oregano, and dash pepper. Cook and stir over medium heat
    just until heated through or until butter almost completely
    melts. Remove from heat. Stir in lemon juice. Using a French
    whip, whisk until it forms a blended mix, add cream and
    continue whisking until it becomes a thickened lemon colored
    mixture.
    Transfer asparagus to a serving platter. Drizzle with lemon
    mixture. Garnish with a twisted orange slice or lemon slice
