Recipe Introduction


A recipe from 1945 that carries on the tradition of warm memories. Great to enjoy on Christmas morning


List of Ingredients




2 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4 tablespoons shortening
1 egg, lightly beaten
milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
butter


Recipe



1. Combine flour, sugar,salt,cinnamon,and baking powder.
2. Cut in shortening, reserve 1/2 cup and set aside.
3. Place beaten egg in a measuring cup and add enough milk to equal one cup.
4. Add vanilla and combine with flour mixture, mix well.
5. Pour into a greased 8x8 pan.
6. Sprinkle with reserved dry mixture.
7. Dot with butter, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
8. Bake 25 minutes at 375.
