1 cup plus 3 tbs sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp soda
1 1/2 tbs buttermilk
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups grated apples
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup pecans

Recipe



Cream 1 cup sugar and shortening; add beaten eggs and apples. Mix in dry ingredients,vanilla,buttermilk and pecans. Pour into a greased loaf pan, sprinkle top with mixture of remaining sugar and cinnamon. Bake 350 degrees for 1 hour.
