This was one of my very first cakes.





List of Ingredients



• 1 1/2 cups flour
  
• 1 cup sugar
  
• 1/2 cup cocoa
  
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
  
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
  
• 1 teaspoon vinegar
  
• 1/3 cup oil
  
• 1 cup cold water
  
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
  






Instructions



1. Put first 5 ingredients in an 8x8 cake pan. Do not mix.
   
   
2. Make 3 wells. Put 1 teaspoon vinegar in one, 1 teaspoon vanilla in one, and 1/3 cup oil in one. Pour 1 cup cold water over all and mix well with fork. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 35 minutes.
   






Final Comments


Hint: Eliminating the air bubbles: Rap pan sharply on counter top before placing in oven.
