    Lillian Hellman's Pot Roast

    This is the best pot roast recipe I have ever come across. I do not remember where I got it from, but it is yummy!


    List of Ingredients


    • 4 - 5 pound pot roast
    • 1 (10 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    • 1 envelope onion soup mix
    • 1 empty can of red wine
    • 1 empty can of water
    • 1 onion, chopped
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 bay leaf
    • 1 teaspoon thyme
    • 1 teaspoon basil


    Instructions


    1. Put pot roast in an ovenproof casserole.
    2. Combine all other ingredients.
    3. Pour all over meat.
    4. Cover tightly with foil.
    5. Bake at 350 degrees F for 3 1/2 hours.
