    List of Ingredients


    • 3 cups of all purpose flour
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
    • 3/4 cup of soften butter
    • 3/4 cup of granulated sugar
    • 2 eggs
    • 1 teaspoon almond extract
    • 1 teaspoon orange zest
    • 1/2 cup blanched chopped almonds toasted (350 for 5 to 10 min)
    • 1 cup finely chopped dried apricots


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 325.. Ungreased cookie sheet
    2. in bowl mix flour, baking powder, and salt
    3. In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until smooth and creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beat until well incorporated. Stir in almond extract and orange zest. Add almonds and apricots and mix well.
    4. Gradually add flour mixture, mixing until a dough forms. OIn a lightly flour surface, divide dough in half, shape into two rolls about 8 inches long. Place at least two inches apart on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown. Cook for 5 minutes on cookie sheet, then cut into slices, 1/2 inch thick. Place on cookie sheet and return to oven to dry for 15 minutes, turn slices over and bake for 5 minutes more. Immediately transfer to wire rack for cooling
