    Five Flavor Pound Cake

    I have to give credit where credit is due. This is a recipe given to me by a dear friend. It is a Fabulous Cake! Great for any occasion! So with her permission I am posting at the request of others!

    List of Ingredients




    1 cup butter, soft
    1/2 cup crisco shortening
    3 cups sugar
    5 eggs, beaten
    3 cups flour
    1/2 teaspoon baking powder
    1 cup milk
    1 teaspoon coconut extract
    1 teaspoon lemon extract
    1 teaspoon rum extract
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract

    GLAZE:
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 cup water
    1 tsp. coconut extract
    1 tsp. rum extract
    1 tsp. butter extract
    1 tsp. lemon extract
    1 tsp. almond extract
    1 tsp. vanilla extract

    Recipe



    Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease a 10 inch tube pan. In a small bowl, combine flour & baking powder & set aside. In a measuring cup, combine the milk and extracts and set aside.
    In a large bowl: cream the butter, shortening & sugar until light & fluffy. Add eggs and beat until smooth. Beat in flour mixture alternating with milk mixture, beginning and ending with flour. Spoon into prepared pan.
    Bake 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours or until cake tests done.
    GLAZE: In saucepan combine sugar, water and extracts. Bring to boil until sugar dissolves. Pour glaze over the hot cake. Allow to soak completely. Remove from pan & cool completely on rack.
