    Dilly Casserole Bread

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pkg. dry active yeast (not fast rising)
    • 1/4 c. warm water
    • 1 c. creamed cottage cheese
    • 2 T. sugar
    • 1 T. minced onion
    • 1 T. butter, melted
    • 2 tsp. dill seed
    • 1 tsp. salt
    • 1/4 tsp. soda
    • 1 egg
    • 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 c. flour


    Instructions


    1. Soften yeast in warm water.

    2. In mixing bowl, combine cottage cheese (heated to lukewarm), sugar, minced onion, melted butter, dil seed, salt, soda, unbeaten egg and softened yeast.

    3. Add 2 1/4 - 2 1/2 c. flour to form a stiff dough, beating well after each addition. Cover and let rise in warm place until doubled - about 50 to 60 minutes.

    4. Stir down dough.

    5. Turn into well greased 1 1/2 to 2 qt. casserole.

    6. Let rise in warm place until light - about 30 - 40 minutes.

    7. Bake at 350 for 40 - 40 minutes until golden brown. Brush with soft butter and sprinkle with salt.
