    List of Ingredients


    • 1 1/2 Kilo green tomatoes
    • 500 grams brown onion
    • 3 red chillies
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 1 cup castor sugar
    • 1 cup white vinegar
    • 1 cup cider vinegar
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard seeds
    • 2 teaspoons fennel seeds
    • 5 cloves


    Instructions


    1. Dice tomatoes and onions.
    2. Finely chop chillies.
    3. Place all ingredients in a large heavy based saucepan. Cook over moderate heat stirring until sugar has dissolved. Simmer 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours. or until chutney has reached a thick consistency.
    4. Remove from heat and place in sterilised jars. Makes approximately 5 cups.
