    Chicken or Pork Fried Rice

    Source of Recipe

    My own

    Recipe Introduction

Quick and easy skillet dish using a packaged Betty Crocker Chicken Helper boxed mix. Absolutely delicious with your own addition of the meat.

NOTE: I put pork chops in the crock pot along with a sprinkling of dehydrated onion and a can of Swanson chicken broth. Any kind will work. Add some salt and pepper for absolutely delicious-tasting meat. Use this alone or put in this rice dish. It cooked in the crockpot overnight on low and was ready for the boxed mix whenever I was ready to put it together.

    List of Ingredients

Betty Crocker's Chicken Helper Chicken Fried Rice mix (boxed)

1 1/2 cups hot water (may add a little more if you need it later in the cooking)

Cooked pork chops (in the crockpot...spray with Pam first!) or chicken

    A covered skillet

    Recipe

Cook the pork chops in the crockpot about 6 or 8 hours (depending on the size of the chops) with 1 can of chicken broth, salt and pepper, and a sprinkling of dehydrated onion. You may use fresh onion if you have it or want to.

Remove the pork chops from the liquid it cooked in and discard this.

Put the meat aside until you are ready to make the chicken fried rice dish.

Pour the boxed Chicken Fried Rice mix and seasoning packet into a skillet that has a cover. Add 1 1/2 cups hot water. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.

Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 13 minutes without lifting the lid. Add your prepared meat to the rice mixture and cover and heat thoroughly (about 2 minutes).

A GOOD SIDE DISH: Birds Eye GARDEN BEAN MEDLEY & TOASTED ALMONDS. This is a frozen veggie that is delicious with the rice dish. So easy. Just cook as directed. It takes about 15 minutes from start to finish so start this while the rice is covered and cooking.
